On Friday, October 22nd, as the lights went down on the final LG Fashion Week show, designer Caitlin Power was gearing up for her showcase at The Drake Hotel. The Toronto Is Fashion team rushed from the Dare To Wear Love collection at Heritage Court and made it to The Drake just in the nick of time for the show. Turns out, the rush was totally worth it!
The collection was a showing of conservative design lines meets bad-ass street girl. Focusing on a two-tone colour scheme of black and tan, the pieces used a lot of symmetrical cuts that would be flattering to every figure. The shortness in the length of the dresses were off-set by puffed sleeves and higher necklines, allowing the collection to be tasteful and not trashy. Several items, especially the blazers, would look great matched with pieces already in your wardrobe, and with the right accessories, these pieces could effortlessly take you from day to evening and back again. It’s always amazing to see young, talented Canadians show off their hard work!
