On Tuesday the 16th, we stopped by the Spring 2011 collection preview for L.A. based denim maker Hudson, BlankNYC, and shoe maker BLOCH. Here are some of the highlights from the collections and what to look forward to for your spring wardrobe:
Hudson: Hollywood stars have long flocked to Hudson, known for their super cool denim, including Sandra Bullock, Kate Bosworth, Selena Gomez, Kate Hudson and more. After previewing the collection, its not hard to see why celebs and consumers alike have made this their favorite denim wear. The company offers clean lines and options for everyone, from flared to super skinny and colour washes of many different shades.
We were also shown the new high-end Hudson Collection, which focuses on the company’s new foray into tops and outerwear and introducing new denim and non-denim bottoms. The tops are light weight and perfect for Toronto’s muggy spring weather, and versatile enough to take you through summer. When it comes to the look, the collection has taken a military meets minimalist approach. Stripes and a neutral colour story help play up the military feel, as well as a great pair of camo-green cut-off shorts made from recycled U.S. military combat pants. The tops and outerwear featured raw edges, symmetrical cuts, draping and drawstrings in replace of metal buttons and clasps. Our favorite pieces from the new collection are the Anorak jacket, the cropped jacket with built in scarf/hood, and the hooded striped tee.
BLOCH: A few things we noticed about the BLOCH shoe collection was the variety, the colours and the comfort pad at the back of the heel that allow for that extra touch of comfort. We totally fell in love with the Oxford shoes below! The thong sandals also feature the heel comfort padding, not to mention they are 100% leather throughout.
