The H&M Spring/Summer 2011 lookbook for the women’s and men’s collection was released and it looks like there will be lots of colour this spring. They have featured many long and loose dresses and skirts, and some cute short dresses in floral prints and shorts in a variety of materials. The new collection takes on the 1960’s/70’s vibe that will be a big trend come spring, topping of the look with over-sized accessories like sunglasses, bangles and necklaces. Light weight fabrics like chiffon, linens and fine jerseys and softer silhouette’s are a stark contrast to last seasons harder edges of leathers, suedes and studs.

This seasons mens collection features a similar take on the 60’s/70’s era but infused with military looking pieces to keep the look masculine. The silhouette is boxier than in previous seasons, with looser fitting clothing and higher hemlines on the shorts. Mixed with khakis, black, navy, grey and white, a splash of colour can be added to this look in the form of accessories. Desert boots, leather belts and a rucksack are a must for this upcoming Spring season.
