Each year in June, the streets of Toronto get lit up with creative and artistic displays for a 10 day celebration called ‘Luminato.’ This year the fashion lovers in Toronto are in for a special treat! Acclaimed Canadian fashion designer Denis Gagnon will design a contemporary fashion response to ‘Alice in Wonderland’ with a sophisticated and theatrical approach. Not much is known yet about the ‘Garden of Roses: Denis Gagnon Interprets Alice’ installation, except there will be a one-of-a-kind dress surrounded by a garden of roses complemented by Christopher Wheeldon’s ballet performed by The National Ballet of Canada. We can’t wait to see what the designer has in store for the exhibit, but with his background in designing theatrical stage costumes, we’re sure this will be a unique and visually appealing display. Hats off to the people behind ‘Luminato’ for incorporating fashion into their exciting list of events planned!
‘Luminato’ runs from June 10th to 19th 2011, and tickets are on sale now. You can buy a ticket by clicking here.
