LensCrafters’ RxHibition Event

LensCrafters' RxHibition Event

Although the weather here in Toronto has been dreary and wet, the summer lovers of Toronto don’t need to worry too much. Summer is coming. Soon the long, sunny days will be here and finally the summer fashions can come creeping back into a full wardrobe rotation. One important accessory we should be reaching for is probably the most important, as it protects one of our most important body parts. Our eyes. Yes, we’ve all heard it a million times before: Wearing sunglasses help protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. With almost every fashion retail store selling sunglasses it can be hard to turn down the ‘2 for $20 deal’ instead of buying a longer lasting, costlier pair from an optometry store.Well, LensCrafters wants you to bring your sun-squinted eyes over to them this summer so they can show you their new (and stylish) collections.

We were invited to check out the LensCrafters RxHibition event, a gallery presentation of the new sunglasses styles. The venue had sunglasses on display with their corresponding ‘styles,’ as girls from LensCrafters worked the room getting guests to take a personality quiz to determine if they are the “style maven,” the “classic,” the “connoisseur” or the “adventurer,” and showing them which sunglasses fit their personality. Hollywood actress Mena Suvari, known best for her performance in ‘American Beauty,’ dropped by to host the event and to mingle with guests, and she gave us an interview as well! After checking out the styles at LensCrafters, especially some retro-hip styles of Ray Bans, we will definitely be stopping in to check out the full collection. It may cost slightly more than our usual ‘bargain sunnies’ but in the long run we are getting something that will be protecting our eyes for summers to come. First, we just have to wait out the rain.
