On Tuesday, Kelly Osbourne was at ‘The Bay’s Queen Street West location to promote the clothing line ‘Material Girl.’ The fashion line was developed by pop legend Madonna and her fashionable young daughter Lourdes, and ‘The Bay’ was able to snag exclusive rights to carry the collection. Kelly Osbourne was chosen to represent the brand by appearing in their ad campaigns and we both think Kelly is the perfect person for the job. Growing up in Hollywood, and being the daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, definitely had its public ups and downs. However, Kelly has learned from mistakes, matured and become a fashion maven in her own right (she currently co-hosts ‘Fashion Police’ with Joan Rivers on the E! Network). Although she admitted to being nervous about the thought of playing ‘model’ for the photo shoot, she jumped at the once in a lifetime offer to work for the original ‘Material Girl’ herself. “Once I got the call, I was delighted and had to accept” Kelly told the crowd.
The clothing line itself is an affordable selection of clothing, accessories and shoes. Keeping up with the growing ‘punk-infused’ trend the line mixes lightweight solids with cropped denim jackets and a touch of metal studs. The colours used in the line are bright and fun and include purples, blues, and of course a splash of hot pink. There are also some native inspired patterns infused in the line. All in all it was a great turn out and another home run for ‘The Bay’ who have been getting an increasing reputation for throwing some of Canada’s hottest events.
