The season is changing to fall and it’s getting colder. People on the Toronto streets are clinging to the last few days of hot sunshine, if there are any left. Recently we’ve been wondering if there are many of those days coming, valiantly trying to avoid sending those comfortable summer clothes to hibernate in the back of our closets for the coming months. But we shouldn’t be too sad. Topshop is coming this fall.
Department chain ‘The Bay’, which acquired exclusive Canadian rights to the U.K. retailer, teased us this summer with two Pop-Up ‘Takeover’ events at their Queen Street West location. Each event showed a small preview of the Topshop and Topman collections with a clusters of mannequins on display and racks with the highly sought after pieces being shopped by an eclectic crowd of Toronto’s writers, bloggers and other fashionable insiders. There were photo booth sessions at both events that were a quick favorite with the guests and models, who were wearing the collection and walking around the space. These pop up shops were great to help build the anticipation for the official October opening of Topshop and Topman. Suddenly, Fall doesn’t look that bad.
