We got the chance to preview the Fulton Umbrella Canada Spring/Summer 2012 preview last week at Neubacher Shor Contemporary. The chic room was decorated with umbrellas from the new collection, as Preident, owner and third generation umbrella maker Richard Igra talked with the crowd about the new styles and designs.
More than just rain protection for your outfit, choosing the right umbrella can help make our break your overall ‘look.’ Decide if your personal wardrobe is more sophisticated, or funky, or classic. Are you normally in black leather leggings and studded accessories or is a 50’s inspired party dress more your thing? Either way, with a selection as large as the Fulton offerings, you can pick an umbrella that will inspire your overall look, instead of looking like an after thought. Also, living in a great city like Toronto, where at times the streets can get super windy, you want a good quality umbrella that will withstand and hold up to the elements. We all get embarrassed when something like this happens!
Fulton Umbrellas was established in 1956 with the Canadian division launching in 1995. The umbrellas have become a must-have accessory since then, becoming a royal staple as the official umbrella brand of the British Royal Family. The new collection features umbrellas in a ranges of colours and prints (animal print, polka dots and floral were out favourites!), and the dome-shaped Birdcage umbrellas in fun colours and designs. We also loved the collaboration Fulton Umbrella did with U.K. designers Lulu Guinness, Orla Kiely, Cath Kidston, Ella Doran and Morris & Co.
You can see pictures of the preview event below or head to the Fulton Umbrella website to see the full collection. Keep an eye on the site, we will be having a Fulton umbrella contest soon!
