Ann Taylor Celebrates Canadian Launch

American retailer Ann Taylor hosted their first Canadian preview at The Carlu event space to celebrate the American clothing store making its way north of the border. The women’s clothing chain, known for its sophisticated style for women, will open two new stores in Toronto, Canada in Fall 2012. This isn’t the only love that Canada will receive from Ann Taylor as there will also be a LOFT store, a division of the Ann Inc., opening later this year at Yorkdale Mall which has just announced some of Ann’s newest neighbours.

“Toronto is the perfect location to open our first international stores. It is a beautiful city filled with modern, sophisticated women who lead busy lives, and we are excited to bring a trusted fashion destination that offers great style as well as incredible versatility,” said Taylor’s Head Designer Lisa Axelson.

The clothing featured sophisticated cuts and styles, but avoids looking “stuffy” with bright pops of colour and prints. From vintage inspired stoles and tweed skirts to updated takes on classic pea coats and printed ‘cigarette’ pants, the collection has a lot to offer and is appropriate for a diverse clientèle. The styling at the event (see pictures below) kept the entire look cohesive and on point with today’s most current trends. Some might be timid at the bold printed pieces, but paired with a solid, you’ll have an instant hit in your wardrobe. The shoe and accessory collection also has a lot to offer, with pieces that can be mixed and matched for easy styling. We loved the black and white animal print necklace and bright enamel bracelets.

Ann Taylor will be opening this fall in the Toronto Eaton Centre, so be sure to do some “pre-shopping” with our pictures below. You can also check out the Ann Taylor website for more information.
