It was announced today that Toronto Fashion Week has been sold to IMG Fashion – IMG creates and manages events, organizations, celebrities and brands. They also run several other fashion weeks including New York.
The Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC) sold Toronto Fashion Week to the event management firm for an undisclosed amount of money. As a result of the sale, FDCC president Robin Kay will step down as executive director of Toronto Fashion Week, a position she has held for 13 years.
No word yet on any big changes happening to Toronto Fashion Week (i.e. Name or sponsor change) but only time will tell what will happen to our fashion week. The fall edition of the event will happen on October 22 to 26, at David Pecaut Square. For more info on the purchase head to the Toronto Star.
