In celebration of Ontario’s Italian Heritage Month, Toronto will be hosting the 2nd Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF) which started with an opening night party on June 26, 2013.
The eleven-day event’s opening night film showing was held at the TIFF Bell Lightbox as they kick-started the movie marathons with the political satire “Benvenuto Presidente!” starring Oscar winner actor Claudio Bisio and Nicolas Vaporidis. In attendance at the festival from Italy will be Walter Nudo and Monica Nappo who star in films that will be showing on the 27th and the 28th.
The after-party was held at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto in anticipation for the next few days’ celebration of Italian cinema as well as a showcase of Italian-themed films from Canada and around the world.
The closing night film on July 6 on the other hand will feature Silvio Soldini in the film “Cosa Voglio di Più” – an ‘odyssey made up of secret encounters’.
Special guests who will be present in the festival include an array of Italian and Canadian actors including Francesco Scianna, Silvio Soldini, Monica Nappo as well as Frank D’Angelo, Nick Mancuso, Tony Nardi and Jerry Ciccoritti.
