Gianni Versace’s former Miami Beach mansion is up for a bankruptcy auction this coming September with bids starting at $25 million.
The property has been turned into a 10-room boutique hotel by the current owner – a businessman who acquired the property in 2000. It recently closed just this year but has been on sale at $125 million initially and dropping to $75 million until the decision to auction it was done by the Fisher Auction Company.
The lavish mansion has a land area of 23,000 square feet with 10 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a 24K gold-lined mosaic pool as well as hand-painted frescoes, Italian marble and stained glass.
It is currently known as Casa Casuarina but is most famous for housing Versace as well as being the site where the designer was shot to death in 1997.
The auction will be held this September 17 at grounds of the mansion.
