Hudson’s Bay’s 5th edition of the Red Mitten debuts in support of Team Canada for next year’s 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
Hudson’s Bay’s ongoing partnership with the Canadian Olympic Foundation has resulted to more than 5 million pairs of the iconic red mittens being sold and has raised more than $22 million dollars since 2009. This fundraiser caters to the direct funding of the Canadian Olympic athletes to help them achieve the Canadian Olympic dream.
Additions to the Red Mittens this year include the new infant size as well as a collector’s pin in the shape of the mittens (available starting November 10, 2013) with each purchase generating $3.33 more for the COF.
Vancouver 2010 Olympic gold medallist Alexandre Bilodeau urges everyone to show their support as this initirative ‘represents a concrete way for Canadians to show their interest in, and support for, our Olympic athletes.’
“It is a simple way to help make Olympic dreams come true. Wherever you are, from coast to coast to coast, as you wave your Red Mittens to cheer us on in Sochi, I hope that you feel very proud of your contribution to the success of the Canadian Olympic Team.”
