Ten up and coming Canadian designers battled it out for Art of Fashion’s 17th Annual Design Competition and event last month. More than 200 VIP attendees from the fashion industry and the media as well as more than 500 guests were present to witness designs from Canada’s most promising new designers.
Each of the designers sent one of their designs down the runway in front of the packed crowd, and then displayed all of their designs in fashion presentations that was judged for the “Most Promising Designer Award”. The award will be chosen by a panel of judges which includes Jacqueline Parrish, ANOKHI Magazine’s Fashion Editor as well as 2012 winner Ryan Joelson just to name a few. A people’s choice award in the form of “Voted by the Public” will also be given as part of the ‘Big Fashion’ installment at the museum.
As for the announcement of the winners for this year’s fashion competition, Art of Fashion has teamed up with the Royal Ontario Museum for the October 18th’s Friday Night Live (FNL) where the winner will be announced. Also, the Royal Ontario Museum’s Bronfman Gallery will house the ten finalist’s collections which will be viewed by more than 3000 attendees.
This year’s winner will be featured on Toronto Is Fashion in a designer spotlight profile that will take a look at the designer and their collection. Don’t forget to head out to the Royal Ontario Museum for a fun night of fashion extravaganza courtesy of Art of Fashion.
