Up and coming fashion label Otswald Helgason held a successful runway show of their Fall/Winter 2014 collection with the help of ALDO RISE.
The February 8th runway show also unveiled the Ostwald Helgason x ALDO RISE collection which includes a full range of handbags and footwear.
Ostwald Helgason has been making its name in the luxury sportswear department since debuting in 2008 from the creative minds of Susanne Ostwald and Ingvar Helgason.
The fall collection was conceptualized from the works of German conceptualist Joseph Beuys and American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein to create pieces that show balance of contrast and cohesion of their opposing esthetics.
“In the collection we combine elements that are particular to their work: felt is merged with bright poppy leathers and vinyls, shiny meets matte, clean shapes are sliced, shrunk or cut away,” explained Susanne Ostwald, Creative Director for Ostwald Helgason.
This is ALDO’s second collaboration with the London-based label with ALDO RISE sponsoring the runway show in New York.
“We’re honored to be part of their first runway show and it’s precisely why we started the ALDO RISE program – to support talented designers as they take their craft to the next level,” said Douglas Bensadoun, Creative Director – Vice President of Marketing for ALDO.
