Father and son Mehran and Sam Mansouri add a refreshing twist to bow ties with the use of one surprisingly fashionable material: wood.
That’s right, wood! BÖ by MANSOURI has designed ten bowtie silhouettes for their debut Spring/Summer 2014 collection. These carefully handcrafted pieces for the modern gentleman (and woman) are proudly made right in Burnaby, British Columbia and makes use of wood cut offs for the main body of the bow tie.
Wood off-cuts for the BÖ tie shape are sourced from end-mills throughout North America and are paired with neck straps made from soft leather strips salvaged in Isreal, while the centre tile is made from artisanal paper twine from Austria. These ties also come in the feathery weight of about 25g, ensuring not only a stylish but comfortable design borne from reclaimed, free raw materials.
The bow tie silhouettes available for this debut collection retails from $55 to $70. Check out these new innovative and eco-friendly bow ties from BÖ by MANSOURI through their official website at getyourbo.com. We already have ours picked out!
