4 Summer Trends To Wear This Fall

The lazy days of summer will will stay with us for just another month and it seems like everyone is on vacation or at least having a lot of fun! We fully agree that planning a fall wardrobe might seem like a pretty miserable chore right now but you don’t have to part with your warm weather clothes just yet. Here is how you make a smooth transition to fall fashion with four key summer key pieces that you can wear now through the fall:

The Full Skirt: This lady-like design, reminiscent of 1950’s elegance will continue its journey well into autumn to offset the sportswear trend. If it has modern details like sharp pleats or a dark floral print then it’s fall-fashion “approved”. Wear it now with high heel sandals and a lace bustier, and make the season switch with a chunky knit and with fall 2014 top footwear trends: brogue shoes or ankle boots.

The Cropped Trouser: Thumbs-up if you invested this spring in a pair of ankle grazing pants. Even better if it’s in printed silk, crepe or brocade, fabrics that have a trans-seasonal appeal. Wear the crop trouser now with a breezy shell top and mule sandals, add later a tailored moto jacket and a pair of Chelsea boots for a modern spin on the rock-chic trend.

The Button Down Shirt is one of this year’s wardrobe staples for a refined androgynous style. Jazz up the dress shirt in an editorial-level ensemble with tailored skorts or a mini leather skirt and block heels. Next month, for a boyish flair, team it up with a short sleeve sweater, slim-cut denims and thick-soles penny loafers.

The Printed Shift Dress: while a minimalist cut is always a time saver, an eye-catching print makes this type of dress the go-to piece in your closet. Wear the colorful shift dress now with caged heels and cool shades and throw on a blanket coat and knee high boots for a trendy fall update.
