Charlotte Tilbury launches a Matte lipstick Revolution

Charlotte Tilbury is breaking new ground with the launch of the Matte Revolution lipstick collection. This may be the ‘matte lipstick of the future’.

The Matte Revolution offers new-generation 3D glowing pigments for lips that look lit-from-within and an optical ‘matte-trick’ to create the appearance of wider, fuller lips. Packed with pigments, this lipstick advertises a high-performance finish which enables you to build up colour from a stain to a full block of pigment.

The unique formula is enriched with orchid extract for antioxidant, SPF protection and hydration and seed extracts from “The Lipstick Tree,” a plant extract that is exclusive to Charlotte Tilbury. Matte Revolution will not dry the lips and stays put, a common complaint against most other matte lipsticks.

The benefits…

  • Lipstick Tree & Orchid extract soften, protect and hydrate lips for younger-looking, healthy lips
  • 3D glowing pigments create the illusion of “full-beam,” lit-from-within lips that optically appear wider and fuller
  • Triglycerides mixed with a perfect blend of oils and waxes glides long-lasting colour onto the lips, making it simple to create an even application and easy to manage the colour, building it from a stain to a full colour block
  • The square, angled tip mimics the shape of a lip brush, making it as easy as possible to achieve precise application and a defined shape
  • Paraben-free

I’ve always loved creating a fuller lip effect with matte lipsticks on campaign shoots. Whereas gloss contours, a matte finish can flatten the lips for a wider shape. On shoots, I would enhance this effect with powder on top, and create a lit-from-within 3D effect with specially angled photographer’s lights. But for real life this is not an option. That’s why I created Matte Revolution. Enriched with breakthrough 3D glowing pigments, the lip colour glows with inner light as if professionally lit, creating the illusion of fuller, wider lips.
