The Hudson’s Bay Co. sure knows how to throw a party. Last night, Toronto’s socialites, fashion insiders and fashion bloggers flocked to ‘The Room’, the company’s ‘creme de la creme’ luxury selection housed at their Queen Street West location, to raise a glass to Tommy Ton and Anna Dello Russo. The Veuve Clicquot was flowing, guests wore their wardrobe bests, and the music was pumping at the dj booth. The latter involved an impromptu dance break, with the Vogue Japan editor picking up the microphone to Rhianna’s ‘Only Girl in the World.’ Ironic song choice, as the guests of the night flocked to Anna for a chance to chat or grab a photo, surely we left her feeling like that nights ‘Only Girl in Toronto.’
The party was to celebrate the Canadian premiere of the exhibit ‘When Tommy Met Anna: A Photographer and His Muse’ which features street style photos taken by blogger Tommy Ton, that features Dello Russo’s fun and eccentric fashion choices. Decorating ‘The Rooms’ open concept space were gallery style walls and mannequins, that paid accolades to the editor-at-large, including an over-sized cherries head piece. Knowing how to give a fashion savvy audience what they want, Dello Russo made a fashion change half way through the party, changing from a printed light pink dress and diamond encrusted heels to a bold punch of yellow with blue flowers. We had a fantastic time at the event and congrats to everyone involved in its planning. It will be the talk of Toronto for some time to come.
