Flare Magazine took over ALDO shoe store at Yonge and Bloor yesterday to celebrate the launch of the collaboration between the fashion magazine giant and the Canadian shoe retailer. The event was a sneak peak for media and industry insiders to preview the shoe, which will officially be available to the public through online orders or select ALDO locations as of today. The good news if you have to order online, is that ALDO is offering free shipping and delivery on all orders!
The shoe’s concept was designed by Liz Cabral, Flare Magazine’s wickedly stylish fashion director, and brought to life by ALDO’s lead designer Anna Sheldon. When asked about the shoe’s over all look, Liz Cabral explains they are like “Helmut Lang, if he were still designing shoes.” The shoe is priced at $135 and was made in a very limited quantity. The wedge, rising up at a modest 4 inches, features python print on the sides, black piping for comfort and functionality, and a bold pop of orange. The perfect shoe for summer.
