We often receive press releases and samples of the newest fragrances before they land on the shelves of stores and boutiques. Often, a long list of unpronounceable ingredients accompanies the bottle with promises of strong hints of some exotic plant only grown in places in the world few have travelled. Most of the fragrances we smell are good but lack a certain character, a certain ‘something special’ that just isn’t there. However, something was different when we sniffed Guerlain’s newest scent ‘La Petite Robe Noire’. Not to be distracted by the cute title (The Little Black Dress), we found the scent to be enticing yet not over-powering. Housed in a glass bottle with an upside down heart shaped stopper, the bottle is a replica of the classic vials Guerlain has been using for almost 100 years. With strong floral and fruity notes, this light and refreshing perfume is sure to be an instant summer hit. With the company’s deep roots in the fashion and beauty industry we’re certain this will be worn by fashionable women across the globe. Little black dress or not.
