Canadian Baby and Children designers

It looks like there will be a royal baby soon! The announcement that Kate Middleton is pregnant made news around the globe, and it got us thinking that with Kate as a mother, what will this baby be wearing?!

Kate is known for looking glamorous while wearing dresses from a bevy of British designers and has even been seen spotted wearing some Canadian designers. We thought we would give her some inspiration when it comes to dressing the new future king or queen, with a list of Canadian baby and children designers.

Name: Electrik Kidz

Location: Montreal, Qc

This Montreal based brand makes cute and edgy children’s clothes and accessories. The clip-on bow-tie oneies are one of our favourites, and you can buy accessory packs with more interchangeable bow-ties and ties, to change the look. Also look out for the bandana bibs that have attachable holders for a pacifier.

Name: Kiki Kids Wear

Location: Vancouver, BC

Kiki Kids Wear designs high-end, fashion-forward and modern kids clothing under two labels; the Kiki (girls) and Rudie (boys) labels. Our favourites are the girls dresses, especially the Tulip dress (above right). All the Kiki Kids Wear clothes are designed and handmade in a Vancouver studio.

Name: Red Fish Kids

Location: Vancouver, BC

Red Fish Kids is a clothing line from Vancouver that takes inspiration from the street fashion of cities like Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo. The designs are made from fabrics that are handpicked from around the world and each design is made in limited quantities, so the newest ‘royal-to-be’ won’t be caught wearing the same outfit at any upcoming events.

Name: Deux par deux

Location: Montreal, QC

This Quebec label has been in the children’s wear market for a while. Launched in 1986, the brand looks at bringing children’s designs with a flamboyant style and European inspirations. Designing both girls and boys clothes, Duex par duex has many collections offering clothes for all occasions.
