Thirty years in music and she remains a definitive icon. Not only is she one of the biggest music stars on the planet; Madonna is a true fashion revolutionary. It makes perfect sense that equally iconic brand Versace is once again capitalizing on her as the face of their SS15 campaign.
Madonna is replacing 28-year old Lady Gaga; though this isn’t the first time she is fronting the brand. She’s actually appeared on Versace’s advertising campaign for four times already, the first one back in 1995.
Donatella Versace herself chose Madonna, saying that she believes,
Madonna is one of the true icons of Versace. I am thrilled to have my friend and the most powerful and directional artist as the face of Versace for Spring 2015.
Madonna+Versace, of course will demand only the best collaborators on this project. Industry veterans Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott of artpartner.com were tapped to capture the fashion force behind Madonna’s “unique and iconic image”.
Messy hair, bleached eyebrows, in provocative cutout leather pieces, the photos showcase the 56-year old’s rocking, toned body. On the collection, Madonna has this to say: “’It’s always exciting to be dressed head-to-toe in Versace and experience first-hand Donatella’s vivid imagination and passion that she has created for this collection”.
