TOM Men’s Fashion Week Starts Today

The TOM Toronto Men’s Fashion Week Fall/ Winter 2015 collections start today at College Park and we wanted to take a look at 5 of the designers showcasing their designs at TOM this year. To get more information on TOM and to buy runway tickets to the shows you can click here.

Joao Paulo Guedes
The Brazilian born and Canadian based designer studied and graduated from the Fashion program at George Brown College in 2013 and the same year he created his first all menswear capsule collection. Joao Paulo has developed his skills as a men’s designer in cooperation with the Indian clothing company Shantanu & Nikhil, working for them in both New Delhi and Toronto. He was the winner of the first ever Emerging Menswear Designer Award (EMDA) during TOM* Toronto Men’s Fashion! Joao Paulo Guedes’s show will hit the runway on Wednesday February 25th at 10pm.

Andrew Coimbra
Designer Andrew Coimbra studied Material Art & Design at the Ontario College of Art & Design University and The School of Fashion Studies at George Brown College. He has worked with Canadian brands Pink Tartan and Philip Sparks and interned with New York brand Proenza Schouler.
Andrew’s runway show will be on Wednesday February 25th, at 6pm and is titled – #SorryNotSorry : a Canadian dilemma.

Worth by David C. Wigley
Worth by David C Wigley is a high end men’s fashion label founded in 2009 by designer David Wigley. David is a graduate of George Brown College’s Fashion Techniques and Design program, with a post-graduate study in Costume Studies and The History of Fashion. We first saw the Worth by David C. Wigley show at F.A.T. and loved the tailored designs he sent down the runway.
The Worth by David C. Wigley show is this Thrusday, February 26 at 8pm.

Christopher Bates
Christopher Bates has an impressive education having trained in Milan at legendary Istituto Marangoni. His menswear line is a tailored collection that has been selling to leading retailers including Holt Renfrew, Gotstyle Menswear and online with e-commerce site Gilt.
The Christopher Bates runway show is on Friday, February 27, at 9pm.

The Wild North
The Wild North is a Canadian brand run by a group of Toronto-based friends and families who are winter outdoor enthusiasts and experts in apparel design and manufacture. The company has winter outerwear that are sustainably sourced and manufactured in Canada. We met the owners of the company and could see their passion for winter outerwear and design.

The Wild North show is on Friday, February 27 at 4:45PM.
